Planar couplers

Planar couplers exhibit insertion loss of less than 0.1 dB and are available in 1 ¥ 4, 1 ¥ 8, 1 ¥ 16, and 1 ¥ 32 configurations. They have coupling ratio performance in the 1300- to 1600-nm range, similar to couplers using standard fbt technology. Applications include passive optical networks, 1310- and 1550-nm signal broadcast and distribution, and fiber-to-the-home.
