Fiber-optic isolators

Fiber-optic isolators

Fiber-optic isolators come in single- and dual-stage versions. Typical single-stage isolators provide isolation of 25 to 28 dB, with an insertion loss of 0.5 dB. Dual-stage versions offer isolation of 35 to 42 dB, with an insertion loss of 0.9 dB. Both supply reflectance greater than -60 dB. An antireflective coating covers all isolator surfaces to reduce insertion loss.
