Return signal switch
Return signal switch
The Return Signal Switch manages and controls upstream traffic in the return path for enhanced signal clarity and improved signal integrity. The module accepts analog and digital signals from up to four individual return paths. If noise is present in the return system, each return leg can be attenuated by 6 dB to determine whether it is carrying the noise ingress. The offending return leg can be shut down until the source of the noise is found, allowing the remaining legs to continue functioning. The front panel of the unit features three leds, each corresponding to a return signal and its switch. The switch contains a -20-dB test injection point for diagnostics and a -20-dB output test point for measuring output signal level. The Model rss-g/tna supports a one- to three-output global network amplifier or a trunk amplifier in a node application. The Model rss-g4/dna is used with a 4-port optical node amplifier. Each model is equipped with a corresponding plug-in circuit board and interface cabling.
