The Volition maintenance cleaning kit eliminates the need for removal of wall plates, contact with solvents, and disassembly of connectors. The cleaning process takes 20 sec, according to the manufacturer, using its hfe-based cleaning fluid, which is inert, nonflammable, and non-conductive. The system includes a spray bottle fitted with fixtures designed to allow separate insertion into both the fiber plug and the socket to spray clean the fiber and faces in one squirt.
