lancast Inc. (Nashua, NH) entered into an original equipment manufacturer agreement with Wang Global (Billerica, MA) to provide its fiber-optic technology for Wang Global`s tempest 10/100-Mbit/sec fiber-optic switch offering. The tempest products are commercially designed and/or modified to meet U.S. government specifications for protection from unauthorized access. The new fiber-optic switch is expected to be a cost-effective solution for enabling customers to incrementally upgrade existing tempest-shared LANs to a switched-LAN environment.
