Digital Island Inc. (Honolulu, HI) announced two new U.S. data centers for multinational corporations deploying Internet protocol (IP) applications. The centers are located in New York City and Silicon Valley, and will bring IP applications housed in the continental United States closer to end users worldwide via minimum router hops. The data centers are part of Digital Island?s Internet-bypass network for companies that want to deliver Web-based information services without suffering from bottlenecks in the Internet.
