Digital crossconnect with grooming

The idcs integrated digital crossconnect system provides both wideband and narrowband crossconnection functions on a single 4/3/1/0 platform with the addition of DS-0-level grooming. The system also has network interfaces for synchronous, asynchronous, and optical-signal formats. The groomer can be initially equipped for as few as 28 ds-1/e1 circuits, with room for expansion to 224 non-blocking ds-1/e1 circuits. Additional narrowband groomer shelves can be added as network requirements dictate. Incorporating both North American and international standard interfaces, the wideband/narrowband crossconnect system can be deployed as a gateway between sonet and sdh systems.
