Metromedia Fiber Network Inc. (New York City) signed a 20-year contract with Hyperion

Metromedia Fiber Network Inc. (New York City) signed a 20-year contract with Hyperion Telecommunications (Couders- port, PA), a subsidiary of Adelphia Cable Inc. (Coudersport, PA), to provide fiber-optic telecommunications facilities from New York to Washington, DC, and within the New York metropolitan area. Under the agreement, Metromedia will provide Hyperion with multiple fibers on a route connecting Washington, DC, to New York City and continuing through the New York metropolitan area to Stamford, CT. In a separate contract, Metromedia will lease psinet (Herndon, VA) dark fiber infrastructure in the New York metropolitan area, the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, and the corridor connecting New York and Washington, DC, passing through Newark, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Wilmington, DE, and Baltimore, MD.
