Light-emitting diode

A 1300-nm light-emitting diode (P/N: Class 1 led) suits 155-Mbit/sec (OC-3) data-communications applications. A lens micromachined directly into the InP die provides up to 50 mW of power into mmf at 100 mA. Rise/fall time is 3 nsec. The standard package is a hermetic, 3-pin, lensed, TO-18-style header.
