Cox Communications deploys Juniper Networks T-series routing platforms in national IP network

19 May 2003 Sunnyvale, CA Lightwave--Cox Communications, a Fortune 500 broadband services provider and the fourth largest U.S.-based cable company, has deployed Juniper Networks T-series routing platforms in its national IP backbone network. The T320 platforms serve as peering points in the IP backbone network, supporting Internet traffic, which is doubling year-over-year, according to Cox.

Cox has deployed peering capabilities to manage bandwidth growth at regional data centers by re-directing IP traffic. This approach is a new way to engineer backbone services that is expected to cut operating expenses and improve performance.
