Analog Devices, Inc. and Tellium, Inc., a provider of in- service intelligent optical switches, announced an agreement to develop a series of advanced, Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) chips.

Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI) and Tellium, Inc., a provider of in- service intelligent optical switches, announced an agreement to develop a series of advanced, Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) chips. These chips will be used in Tellium's MEMS-based switching fabric for use in its next-generation Aurora Full Spectrum all-optical switch.

Last year, Tellium announced the Aurora Full-Spectrum switch, currently in development and designed to combine all-optical bypass switching with electronic control and processing. Full-Spectrum is being designed to exploit the bit-rate independent carrying potential of all-optical switches while making available the manageability of opto-electronic interfaces-creating a scaleable optical switch that is OC-768 ready, without sacrificing network manageability and control.

About Tellium:

Tellium is a developer of the in-service, intelligent optical switches.

About Analog Devices:

Analog Devices is a manufacturer of precision high-performance integrated circuits used in analog and digital signal processing applications.
