Fiber-optic networks

American Communications Services Inc., Oak Brook, IL, has completed downtown phases of fiber-optic networks in Little Rock, AR, and Greenville, SC. ACSI`s first network, located in Louisville, KY, began commercial operation in November, while the initial phase of its Fort Worth, TX, network is nearing completion. Construction has also begun on a network in Columbia, SC. In addition, the company has acquired Piedmont Teleport Inc., a Greenville telecommunications provider.
