Wisconsin link

MRC Telecommunications Inc. in Brookfield, WI, has installed a synchronous optical network that links Janesville, LaCrosse and Eau Claire, WI. The installation gives MRC the capacity to carry the equivalent of 32,256 simultaneous phone calls among the three locations. The technology upgrade enables MRC to offer such telecommunications services as distance learning and high-speed medical image transmission. In addition, Sonet`s self-healing ring provides uninterrupted service in case of lightning, tornadoes, extreme cold spells and cable tampering.
