Multi-fiber connector adapter

Multi-fiber connector adapter

A blind-mating connector adapter features a double-latching mechanism, permitting connectors to move in the outer sleeve with no residual force on the backplane. Up to 12 fibers with a 125-micron core require 18.7 mm on a personal computer card edge. Applications include Sonet and ATM digital-switch backplanes and high-speed parallel and serial computer links. In premises wiring, the connector is used to terminate backbone/riser cable and to distribute fibers to open-office areas.
