Field trial completion

E/O Networks, Hayward, CA, has completed its fiber-optic field trial with Brookings Telephone in Brookings, SD. The trial, which was established by E/O Networks and rural network consultants Martin and Associates, began in February 1995 and has provided basic telephone services to 40 Brookings subscribers (see Lightwave, March 1995, page 6). Brookings is satisfied that the trial is complete. However, to obtain rural utility services approval for its FDS-1 System, E/O Networks will continue the trial for another three months.
