Cable monitoring system
The 2000 cable monitoring system checks outside plant fiber-optic cable and splice enclosures for damage and moisture ingress. It oversees 1000 cable-sheath kilometers and more than 7000 splice enclosures. Alarm and pre-programmed status reports are sent over standard telephone lines to maintenance centers. Remote control and outside plant data retrieval are made via a computer modem.
