Fusion-splice protector

The Ultrasleeve plastic injection-molded protection device shields fused fiber and is available in 40- and 60-mm lengths. It comprises two hinged halves to form a "U" shape. The splice protector accepts single fiber, any combination of 250- to 900-micron buffers or multi-fiber joints to four-fiber ribbon. It is applied after the fiber joints are fused and the fibers are placed into the fold of the hinge. The protector withstands hot water, fatigue, high temperature and chemicals.
