Four major Denver television stations have installed Astarte Fiber Networks Inc.`s Star-switch model 1600 fiber-optic photonic switching systems for transmitting and receiving news broadcasts from the recently opened Denver International Airport. The switching technology handles voice and video signals bidirectionally over a single fiber; it also provides a switching architecture that does not require electrical manipulation of the signal.
