Broadband services

Singapore Telecom is beginning a trial of the architecture developed by the Fujitsu Consortium--Fujitsu Network Transmission Systems Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Philips Consumer Electronics. The trial of broadband services will offer video on demand, home shopping and karaoke on demand. Singapore Telecom is investing $9 million in the consortium`s full-service network and will use the trial to compare copper- and fiber-based networks.
