Fiber-network financing

Tomen America Inc., New York City, will provide debt and equity financing for fiber-optic network construction by GST Telecom, a subsidiary of Greenstar Telecommunications, Vancouver, British Columbia. The first project that Tomen will finance under the agreement is a 77-route-kilometer fiber-optic ring that will connect six Californian cities. This project, to be completed by Pacific Lightwave, GST`s subsidiary, will require Tomen to provide $9 million in debt financing, as well as $300,000 of project equity to supplement GST`s $2.7 million of equity capital.
