AFL Telecommunications expands splicing product line

JANUARY 16, 2008 -- To complement Fujikura's high-precision splicing products, AFL Telecommunications has added several products from the NYFORS product line to its existing suite.

JANUARY 16, 2008 -- To complement Fujikura's high-precision splicing products, AFL Telecommunications (search for AFL) has added the AutoCleaver, AutoCleaver S1, S2, and AutoCleaverLDF; CleaverMasterLDF and CleaverMeterLDF; MiniCoater, Recoater 1, and AutoCoater; and ProofTester from the NYFORS product line to its existing suite.

NYFORS (search for NYFORS), a manufacturer of state-of-the-art products used in the production of optical components and systems, offers core technologies including fiber-optic recoating, cleaving, analyzing, testing, and fiber preparation.

"The Fujikura family of fusion splicers and accessories has long been known for performance, productivity, and reliability in a wide variety of fiber-optic environments. Adding the NYFORS suite of technologically advanced accessories dramatically enhances our capabilities, especially in advanced applications such as LDF (large diameter fiber)," says Steve Althoff, general manager for AFL Telecommunications.

NYFORS products are available from AFL Telecommunications effective immediately.
