JANUARY 15, 2008 -- Adesta LLC (search for Adesta), a systems integrator and project management company for communication networks and electronic security systems, has been awarded a $282,000 contract to provide engineering and design services for a fiber-optic network reaching schools and administration buildings for the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). This will be the first step in the implementation of a network to support internal voice and data requirements of the district's 63 schools.
Â
The objective of the project, which began in December 2007, is to design a fiber-optic network that will significantly benefit BVSD by providing high-speed telecommunications services to the District's facilities and the ability to interconnect with existing government agency networks. Unlimited flexibility of bandwidth and lower costs versus lease lines are also added benefits, say district representatives. The network will consist of a combination of existing conduits, duct-bank, and rights-of-way. The district has acquired or will acquire the right to use existing conduits and other facilities from the City of Boulder.Â
Â
"Adesta is happy to continue our commitment to the improvement of education in the state of Colorado," maintains Bob Sommerfeld, president of Adesta. "We first worked on the advancement of Colorado Springs School District #11. We now have the honor of being entrusted to bring our proven experience to the Boulder Valley School District. We are confident our engineering and design expertise will make a marked, positive difference in the advancement of the Boulder Valley School District."
Â
"We are pleased to be working with Adesta," adds Briggs Gamblin, Director of Communications for Boulder Valley School District. "This company has the proven experience and expertise to ensure the network will deliver numerous advantages to enhance the educational experience of the Boulder Valley School District."
