NOVEMBER 25, 2008 -- Hibernia Atlantic (search for Hibernia Atlantic) says it has been selected by GenieKnows.Com, a search technology firm headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to expand their global reach by providing IP Ethernet connectivity securely across the Atlantic Ocean.

GenieKnows.Com connects search technology, community, and content by developing niche-specific portals tailored for distinct searching communities. Using search "crawling" techniques and algorithms, the firm aims to provide more useful and effective search results to its end-users. To that end, the Canadian-based firm has been growing its global reach; providing additional services in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe; and increasing its need for faster, reliable bandwidth capacity.

According to the carrier, the new connectivity will help GenieKnows ensure a more direct, physical route to the UK -- bypassing traditionally congested waterways around New York and London and instead directly connecting from Canada to Ireland, UK, and then Europe. The new connection will also provide less latency, and therefore faster search times. These factors, coupled with a 24/7/365 network operations support, with available technicians on "both sides of the pond," made Hibernia Atlantic a clear choice for GenieKnows, the carrier asserts.

"It's all about speed" stated Mark Harper, vice president of strategic relations at GenieKnows.Com. "Hibernia Atlantic was our obvious choice as the company offers low-latency SLA's [service-level agreements] and round-the-clock dual NOC support. We are very happy with Hibernia and their smooth and seamless installations."
