Fiber-optic modem

The 2202 miniature modem operates over 7 km with multimode fiber, and over more than 40 km with singlemode fiber. The unit locks onto any incoming data rate between 1 kbit/sec and 10 Mbits/sec within 3 seconds. It accommodates asynchronous operation to 1.25 Mbits/sec. The modem supports two full-duplex channels of RS-449 and RS-485 data in a 1.75-inch rack-mount chassis. A 7-inch chassis holds 12 full-duplex fiber-optic modem cards.
