Variable attenuator

A miniature, polarization-insensitive fiber-optic variable attenuator uses reflective optics to reduce size. It suits optical communications, instrumentation and laser-power control. Operating wavelength is 1200 to 1600 nm, and residual attenuation is 1.5 dB. Optical return loss is 55 dB, and resolution is better than 0.2 dB.
