TUNABLE LASER SOURCES

Aug. 1, 2000

The IQ-2600B and the FLS-2600B Tunable Laser Sources are each available as a modular source for inclusion in an integrated test station or as a stand-alone source for benchtop use. These sources are designed to characterize DWDM and general passive fiberoptic components in the C- and L-bands. The doped-fiber sources provide extra-high spontaneous emission rejection for high-performance insertion loss and polarization-dependent loss measurements. The sources are continuously tunable, with 65 dB of noise suppression. The emission spectrum provides a linewidth of a few hundred megahertz with good power stability. The filtering optic is placed on a fast sweeping no-gear dc motor for maximized resolution and wavelength stability.
