The LDC-37X4B laser diode controller has a redesigned current source that provides additional levels of protection against intermittent contact bounce. It features a front-panel adjustable compliance voltage setting, allowing the user to define a voltage level that cannot be exceeded under any condition. The laser shutoff circuit has also been enhanced for faster shutdown, resulting in greater security. Other enhancements include a 4-wire forward voltage sense, improved modulation bandwidth, and enhanced constant-power operation. Modulation bandwidth is up to 1 MHz with small signals. The temperature control section features TEC voltage measurement, allowing calculations of total energy consumption by the laser diode package.
