Digital Broadcast Network Corp. (St. Louis, MO) announced activation of an OC-3 (155-Mbit/sec) fiber backbone linking cities from San Francisco to New York and Chicago to Dallas. The link is the first private backbone deployment in the company?s rollout of an IP-based ATM network linking 28 U.S. cities. The network is being designed to deliver voice, video, and data at speeds up to OC-48 (2.4 Gbits/sec).
