Metro add/drop multiplexer

The AXR 500 is an add/drop multiplexer for carriers` SONET-based metropolitan area networks. The platform is designed to improve the efficiency of SONET rings by using Asynchronous Transfer Mode as the underlying transport protocol for voice and data traffic. It also integrates the following functionalities into a single scalable, modular platform: add/drop multiplexer, access router, service access multiplexer, digital loop carrier, and digital crossconnect. The system is priced starting at $29,000, depending on configuration.
