Chris Scholz is Field Applications Engineer with LeCroy Corporation. At Intel Corporation he managed a team that developed silicon-based optical amplifiers for planar lightwave circuits and for IntelCapital performed technical due-diligence on early-stage optical startup companies. As research faculty at GaTech he developed ASICS for coherent optical receivers and at UCSB he conducted research in all-optical switching using high-speed optical nonlinear elements. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a MS degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as a MS (“Dipl.-Ing.”) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the TU Carolo-Wilhelmina at Brauschweig, Germany.
