Protocol-independent dwdm

The 4/8 Optical Channel Multiplexer (ocm) expands optical-fiber bandwidth capacity between high-speed customer premises metropolitan area network applications. The ocm`s transmitter converts the bit stream of each attached application to independent wavelengths and combines them onto one common fiber. The receiver separates the wavelengths to their respective channels and converts them to the original wavelength. The unit supports all optical applications that operate from 10 and 1250 Mbits/sec. A fully configured 8-channel system measures 19 ¥ 13 ¥ 22 inch and weighs 60 lb.
