Baker Support Services Inc. (Dallas, TX), a subsidiary of Michael Baker Corp., was awarded three new contracts totaling $10.7 million to operate and maintain telecommunications systems on U.S. Air Force installations. The installations are Pope Air Force Base, SC; Holloman AFB, NM; and Shaw AFB, SC. Baker`s responsibilities will include the installation and movement of telephones and lines and the installation of fiber-optic transmission cables used in creating local area networks (LANs) that support information-management systems.

TU Communications Inc. (Dallas, TX), a subsidiary of Texas Utilities Co. has selected Osicom Technologies Inc. (Santa Monica, CA) to help expand portions of its communications network. TU Communications placed an initial order for Osicom`s GigaMux DWDM products following extensive product testing by East Texas Fiber Line, an affiliate of TU Communications.
