Sept. 6, 2001
Sept. 6, 2001--Juniper Networks, Inc., a provider of next-generation Internet Protocol infrastructure systems, announced that PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk., a telecommunications service provider in Indonesia, is upgrading its national IP core with Juniper Networks M10 Internet backbone routers.

Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR), a provider of next-generation Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure systems, announced that PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk. (TELKOM), a telecommunications service provider in Indonesia, is upgrading its national IP core with Juniper Networks M10 Internet backbone routers.

The high-speed, ultra-reliable infrastructure will place TELKOM among service providers within the Asia Pacific region, enabling it to offer revenue-generating IP services. These services include premium accessibility and value-added applications, including virtual private networks (VPNs), voice over IP (VoIP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), and video on demand. This new installation is the first fully deployed and operational Juniper Networks network in Indonesia.

TELKOM currently owns a dial-up Internet service provider (ISP) in Indonesia: TELKOMNet Instant. The Juniper Networks M10 routers have been deployed in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Semarang, forming a triangular core through which all other cities will eventually be connected. Later, more nodes will be connected to serve other highly data-centric sites.
