Sprint chooses Tellabs for global network enhancements

Oct. 31, 2001--Sprint has selected Tellabs' equipment to help expand its international network into Europe and Asia and improve voice and voice-band data services quality for customers in the United States.

Sprint has selected Tellabs' equipment to help expand its international network into Europe and Asia and improve voice and voice-band data services quality for customers in the United States.

Sprint will use Tellabs' optical networking equipment, including the FOCUS LX transport system and the FOCUS NM2100 network management system, to support private line services and local access in as many as 15 cities, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Milan, Munich, Paris, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney and Tokyo. In the United States, Sprint will use Tellabs' VERITY 3100 echo cancellation equipment to provide a smaller footprint at reduced costs.
