Fibertech Networks expands in New Jersey

Regional fiber-optic bandwidth services provider Fibertech Networks says it plans to expand its existing fiber-optic network footprint in central and southern New Jersey by more than 700 route miles.

Regional fiber-optic bandwidth services provider Fibertech Networks says it plans to expand its existing fiber-optic network footprint in central and southern New Jersey by more than 700 route miles. The network expansion, driven by the demands of newly signed customers, is expected to be complete by year-end 2011.

The new routes will include a diverse fiber-optic network connection from Philadelphia to Atlantic City and a unique path from Trenton to Perth Amboy.

“We’re extremely excited to be adding such network depth and diversity in New Jersey,” said Michael C. Hurley, vice president, sales and marketing for Fibertech. “It represents not only a series of wins for the company, but also a strong presence in a growing marketplace that continues to lack competitive, ‘open-access’ bandwidth providers beyond the central downtown areas and major aggregation points.”

With these new miles, Fibertech will have in place a continuous, company-owned and operated fiber network extending from Springfield, MA, to northern Maryland, bringing the company’s total fiber assets across the mid-Atlantic and New England regions to more than 4,000 route miles.
