Global Net Access (GNAX), which provides data center services, colocation, cloud computing, and managed hosting in the U.S., has deployed the FSP 3000 from ADVA Optical Networking (FSE: ADV), the system houses says. GNAX used the WDM system to increase the capacity of the connection from its Atlanta NAP data center to a Telx interconnection facility as well as support service level agreements (SLAs) and low-latency requirements.

GNAX operates a 70,000-sq-ft mission-critical data center in Atlanta that is SSAE 16 Type II-certified with Tier-4 power, as well as an additional strategic facility in Dallas. GNAX took advantage of the data center’s proximity to ADVA Optical Networking’s U.S. headquarters in Norcross, GA, to customize the FSP 3000 equipment for its requirements. This resulted, for example, in deployment of a slimline version of the FSP 3000 that met GNAX’s space, cooling, and power needs.

“ADVA Optical Networking is a company that understands the importance of relationships,” said William Souder, vice president of online operation and engineering at GNAX. “We’ve been working with them for many months now and the level of expertise and understanding they display is exceptional. From inception to lab testing to actual deployment, their team worked tirelessly to ensure that we exceeded our customers’ expectations. We can now provide our customers with access to a whole range of new services. What’s more, we now have a network that grows at the same pace as our customers’ needs.”
