Hibernia Atlantic, a transatlantic high-bandwidth connectivity provider, is now connected to UK Grid's Manchester One @ Synergy House, a carrier neutral collocation facility in Manchester, U.K., bringing its high-capacity network services to the high-growth region.

UK Grid operates more than 75,000 square feet of space across four carbon-neutral data centers, environmentally optimized for high efficiency and reliability, says a representative. Its Manchester One @ Synergy House data center provides roughly 23,000 square feet of secure space with N+1 design for its power, cooling, and back-up systems.

“Hibernia Atlantic’s secure and diverse, high-capacity connectivity, especially in and around the British Isles, makes them a natural partner to support our growing local, regional, and international client base,” states Rob Garbutt, CEO for UK Grid. “With Hibernia Atlantic, our clients can further deliver cost-effective and highly reliable network services to support mission-critical applications and IT requirements--backed by SLAs. We also have a direct and secure link between England, mainland Europe and North America, allowing clients the necessary reach and flexibility necessary in today’s global economy.”

Hibernia’s transatlantic submarine cable network securely connects more than 120 points of presence throughout Europe and North America.

“By connecting our diverse, high-capacity network into UK Grid’s Manchester data center, we can further address the demand from enterprises and IT service providers throughout this region,” states Bjarni Thorvardarson, chief executive officer for Hibernia Atlantic.
