Atrato IP Networks, which offers IP transit, carrier services, remote-IX and managed services, has contracted Hibernia Atlantic to provide additional capacity on its transatlantic network route and between major US and European hubs. Atrato chose Hibernia Atlantic because of its fast, diverse connectivity, rapid deployment, and cost-effective pricing, Hibernia asserts.

Netherlands-based Atrato IP Networks operates a network that connects major points of presence (PoPs) in over 15 countries as well as more than 20 Internet exchange points. Its customers include small, privately owned companies to large enterprise firms and ISPs.

The service provider maintains levels of at least 200 percent capacity on its IP network to ensure peak performance during periods of heavy traffic volume. To maintain this level of capacity in light of growing customer demand, Atrato selected Hibernia Atlantic to provide additional network capacity between Ashburn, VA, and Chicago; Chicago to New York; London to New York; New York to Ashburn; and London to Amsterdam.

“Hibernia Atlantic’s secure and diverse transatlantic connectivity enables Atrato to deliver on the trust that customers place in us to handle their most sensitive data traffic,” states Michiel Muhlenbaumer, CTO of Atrato. “While providing a network of low latency and resiliency, Hibernia’s flexible, cost-effective solutions and accelerated deployment schedules are entirely in sync with our needs and our high quality performance.”
