NOVEMBER 4, 2009 -- A new family of shuttered duplex LC adapters has been added to Tyco Electronics’ line of LC connectors and adapters. This product is designed for the low-profile, SC cutout adapter and includes a slip-on retractable cover within the standard cutout for enhanced eye protection. It is suitable for high-powered applications and serves the data communication and telecommunication industries, Tyco says.

“A unique feature of the slide-on shutter provides for eye safety without changing the board cutout,” says Paula A. Trindell, product manager. “In addition, its convenient single door design allows for an effortless one-handed connector installation.”

Available product offerings include flanged and flangeless plastic configuration, secure adapters, and metal flanged adapter styles.
