DECEMBER 3, 2009 -- FiberLight has announced that Applied Innovations, a Microsoft Gold Certified provider of web hosting applications, has signed a multiyear agreement to purchase a secure network connecting Applied Innovations to two state-of-the-art collocation facilities in downtown Miami.

FiberLight, an optical transport network provider, is enabling a diverse-path Ethernet network to connect Applied Innovations to the Telefonica KeyCenter and the NAP of the Americas. The protected, point-to-point dedicated network will enable Applied Technologies to fully support its clients while continuing to grow its presence in the South Florida region.

"Our agreement with FiberLight is an important first step in deploying our next-generation cloud hosting solutions and hosted applications. FiberLight's cost-efficient solution will provide our customers and resellers the secure, low-latency network they require for all e-commerce activity, while giving Applied Innovations an avenue for continued growth throughout the region," says Dan Farrell, director of network operations for Applied Innovations.

"We are pleased Applied Innovations selected FiberLight to offer a high-bandwidth network solution to its customers," says Kevin B. Coyne, president and chief operating officer of FiberLight. "FiberLight's diverse network and multiple points of presence supply the strategic platform companies in the South Florida region require while providing low latency and dedicated high bandwidth speeds that only a fiber optics company can offer."

FiberLight leverages its 500,000-fiber mile network and its metro network footprint to offer companies fully managed network technologies and service before and after the sale.
