INTEGRATED MULTICHANNEL EVOA

Aug. 1, 2000

A new integrated multichannel silicon-based EVOA (Electronic Variable Optical Attenuator) reduces the space requirements and eases design constraints for multichannel DWDM systems. Intended as an integrated solution to channel balancing for DWDM, the device is manufactured using proprietary ASOC technology, which uses high-volume production methods to build reliable integrated optical devices. This new EVOA uses solid-state attenuation and is more reliable than components that have moving parts.
