APRIL 22, 2010 -- Telecom Transport Management, Inc (TTM), a provider of backhaul to wireless carriers, has selected the Tellabs 7100 Optical Transport System to prepare for the increased bandwidth demands 3G and 4G wireless networks will create.
TTM has been preparing for the effects of higher-speed wireless networks more than a year, says Tellabs (Nasdaq: TLAB). Its technology roadmap called for an optical platform that could handle unprecedented backhaul volumes and the wireless carriers' migration from TDM to Ethernet.
"We have chosen the Tellabs 7100 system to provide the highest level of reliability and scalability in our backhaul network," said Lynn Refer, TTM's CEO. "Our goal is to leverage this platform to provide our customers the best solution at the fastest speeds and the most competitive economics."
The Tellabs 7100 system is designed to offer integrated transport and multiservice delivery via a single platform.
