MAY 14, 2010 -- Mexican carrier MetroNet has announced that it has qualified and selected Tejas Networks Ltd. as their optical transport vendor of choice to service their next-generation transmission network.
“MetroNet conducted an in-depth evaluation of their transmission platform, on which technology was put under numerous tests of operation,” said Miguel Angel Fernández, MetroNet’s COO. “As MetroNet has a very highly deployed transmission network operating since 1999, we were pleasantly surprised by the simplicity with which Tejas could integrate into our existing facilities in terms of management. This, together with the high cost-effectiveness and the capability to integrate data services on the same platform, made the acquisition and integration of Tejas Networks an effortless decision.”
Fernández also praised MetroNet’s customer support.
Tejas Networks says it has an end-to-end transmission portfolio that includes next-generation SDH/SONET as well as Carrier Ethernet products that enable telecom carriers to converge traditional voice-based transmission networks with the new data-dominated networks. The India-based company says its products are being used in more than 50 countries around the world.
