MAY 26, 2010 -- Vietnam Telecoms National (VTN), Vietnam’s largest telecommunications carrier, has deployed the ADVA FSP 3000 from ADVA Optical Networking to provide managed WDM connectivity services to enterprises in that country. The platform has been deployed at major financial institutions in Vietnam.
VTN deployed the ADVA Optical Networking systems to offer advanced disaster recovery and data center connectivity services to its customers. ADVA Optical Networking says the FSP 3000 supports lowest-latency transport and 4G and 8G Fibre Channel protocols. In addition, the Optical Line Monitoring (OLM) technology of the FSP 3000 improves the transport capacity of VTN’s fiber-optic network and identifies defects and other issues that arise in the fiber backbone, says a representative.
The VTN network traverses the length and width of Vietnam, providing a network of 1,000 customers across more than 3,000 km.
The upgrade was implemented in partnership with systems integrator, FC Co., Ltd, which will continue to maintain and monitor the network in the future. The ADVA FSP 3000 is a scalable WDM system specifically designed for service providers and large enterprises that require a flexible, cost-effective system that multiplexes, transports and protects high-speed data, storage, voice, and video applications.
