New York commodities trader chooses Ethernet routers and switches from Juniper Networks for networking infrastructure
FEBRUARY 2, 2010 -- Leaders of commodity trader IntercontinentalExchange Inc. (ICE) in New York needed edge routers and Ethernet switches for its next generation network infrastructure. They found their solution in the MX 3D Universal Edge Routers, EX series Ethernet switches, and Junos software from Juniper Networks Inc. in Sunnyvale, Calif.
The new ICE infrastructure supports millions of daily financial transactions in more than 50 countries. "The majority of our business activity consists of trading functions which require a flexible and available network that can enhance operational efficiencies without sacrificing performance," says Mark Wassersug, vice president of operations at ICE. "With Juniper's routers, switches, and world-class Junos Software, we can reduce latency in our network."
Juniper's MX 3D universal edge routers provide routing capabilities, including MPLS network virtualization, full Level 2 and Level 3 VPN support, low-latency multicast, and IPv6. Juniper's EX8200 Ethernet switches also provide a migration path for future 100 gigabit Ethernet (GbE) deployments without requiring upgrades to the switch fabric. Junos software integrates routing, switching, security, and network services.
