PacketLight’s PL-4000M reduces optical transmission cost per bit and enables higher spectral efficiency so the fiber can be better utilized. It offers a high level of security with Layer 1 encryption based on GCM-AES-256 standards with Diffie-Hellman key exchange. The PL-4000M supports a mix of services and rates including 10/25/100/400G Ethernet, 16/32G Fibre Channel, and OTU2/2e/4, allowing service providers to use the device for many applications as an MSPP to offer managed services. The muxponder uses Open ROADM and OpenZR+ pluggable coherent modules, reducing cost, size, and power consumption.

Judge’s Comment: “Allows flexibility in the network so there is no vendor lock-in.”
