Brazil’s Proxxima Telecom adds 400G to fiber network via Padtec

Proxxima Telecom, a telecommunications services provider based in Paraíba, Brazil, is deploying a DWDM network using dual 400G transponders from Padtec, the Brazil-based optical communications technology provider says. The fiber network will connect Campina Grande, in Paraíba, and Caruaru, in Pernambuco.

Proxxima is the third largest fiber-optic connectivity provider in the Northeast sector of Brazil. It serves customers in the states of Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, and Ceará. The new DWDM network will enable Proxxima to expand their services and set the stage for future expansion. “To accomplish this, we intend to continue counting on Padtec's partnership, which has also helped us in planning the investment necessary to expand our network,” said Leonardo Gomes, CEO of Proxxima.

The Padtec transponders use CFP2-DCO optical transceivers to provide up to 400 Gbps of transmission capacity. They are available in 2-, 4-, and 14RU sizes that support short-, medium-, and long distance networks. The company offers financing through credit lines through BNDES, FIDC with the Sifra group, Finep (branch of investments in technology and innovation of the federal government), "vendor financing," with private banks and "forfait" operations for international sales.
