DWDM optical-spectrum analyzer

The osp-102A optical spectrum analyzer, a module for use with the oms optical measuring system, tests dense wdm systems with channel spacings of 1.6 and 0.8 nm. The analyzer measures wavelength/frequency, power level/gain, and signal-to-noise ratio in the 1530- to 1570-nm wavelength range. Results can be stored, displayed, and printed in graphical and tabular formats. For power-level measurements, the error is typically +0.4 dB and for wavelength measurements, typically +0.25 nm (or +0.06 nm after user calibration). The tunable optical filter enables the analyzer to select a wavelength of a multiplexed signal and route the filtered signal to a monitor output. An sdh/sonet tester can then analyze the signal at the bit and frame levels.
