64-channel wdm

The WaveMux 6400 system allows the transmission of 64 channels over a single optical fiber and retains the capacity for incremental upgrades as demand for bandwidth increases. The system can be installed as a 4-channel system and upgraded incrementally to its full 64-channel capacity without affecting existing channels. The addition of a life extender module permits configuring numerous 64-channel systems back-to-back for a transmission distance in excess of 8000 km without regeneration. The system includes an integrated element management system based on tmn standards that allows one element manager to monitor up to 100 network elements. Network management uses cmip over Ethernet (based on osi full 7-layer stack) and TL1 over tcp/ip. It also offers local craft interface via RS-232. The management system allows full system monitoring, alarm reporting, and report generation, and can be used to configure the system on startup.
