Agilent Technologies lowers test cost with high-power optical head and sensor
Dec. 4, 2001--Agilent Technologies (Palo Alto, CA) today announced an optical power head and sensor that enables optical component designers and manufacturers to measure optical power levels up to +37 dBm quickly and accurately.
The Agilent 81628B high-power optical head enables fully traceable measurements within a wavelength ranging from 800 nm to 1700 nm. When combined with its optical power measurement capabilities, the offering is expected to reduce test time, increase yield, and accelerate time to market.
Agilent's 81630B high-power optical sensor, a part of Agilent's multimeter platform, allows measurements up to 28 dBm, with a wavelength range of 970nm to 1650 nm. The rack-mountable module can be inserted into an Agilent 8163 mainframe. According to Agilent, the high-accuracy and low-polarization dependent loss values greatly reduce test times and make the power sensor an ideal tool for high-power measurements.
